She receives this award after her emotional performances days after the sudden passing of her mother. The honour is awarded to athletes who "embody the same values" that Terry Fox did during his Marathon of Hope run 30 years ago. Congratulations Joannie for your outstanding performances this week. Joannie says she will compete at the 2010 World Championships in Torino at the end of March.
