[Blade1] 5:02 pm: Jennifer I am very excited to see Stars On Ice this year. Will be heading to Hamilton to see the show. Wondering what programs you have in store for this year's show?
[missflick] 5:02 pm: Hello...do you mind the nickname some people have for you....JRo?
[The Arena]: Erica Armstrong has entered at 5:02 pm
[Blade1] 5:02 pm: I think I am going to stick with the white font !!!
[jenrob55] 5:03 pm: Hi guys, I am better at remembering names then sign on names, so please bear with me. I will be doing Stars this year and will be in Hamilton. I am doing "I want you to want me" and "Gabriels Oboe" which is brand new. My nickname J-Ro, come from a take from J-Lo which I kind of like.
[petite_patineuse] 5:03 pm: hi jenn!!
[The Arena]: Jen has entered at 5:03 pm
[petite_patineuse] 5:04 pm: are you doing the mariposa seminar again this year?
[jenrob55] 5:04 pm: Hi petite_patineuse, are you from Quebec?
[jimhodges] 5:04 pm: You are prettier than JLo
[Erica Armstrong] 5:04 pm: Hello everyone
[Lynn226] 5:04 pm: Do you ever regret retiring from Olympic eligibility? I was sorry to see you go.
[semper12] 5:04 pm: I will second that
[Julia] 5:04 pm: ITA _ prettier than J_Lo
[loves_it] 5:04 pm: i third it
[petite_patineuse] 5:04 pm: no, WOS section
[Blade1] 5:04 pm: I do look forward to the show this year. Thanks JRo - the nickname suits you
[Blade1] 5:04 pm: Hey Erica
[jenrob55] 5:04 pm: Yes, I am doing the Mariposa seminar this year. I am currently doing some choreography here at Mariposa until I leave for Stars next Sat. Thank you jimhodges, that is very flattering.
[SarahB] 5:05 pm: Hey Erica
[petite_patineuse] 5:05 pm: yay!
[jimhodges] 5:05 pm: My pleasure. Wish we could see you more here in the states. Your skating is beautiful
[Erica Armstrong] 5:06 pm: Jen - I just wanted to thank you again for the time you gave my grandmother and I when we ran into you in North Bay. She is still talking about it
[semper12] 5:06 pm: Jenn this is your 2nd California connection
[jimhodges] 5:07 pm: Here from Massachusetts
[semper12] 5:07 pm: looks as I'm am the only US fan here
[BrettB] 5:07 pm: Jen, did you double for the movie Ice Princess?
[jenrob55] 5:07 pm: Thanks, I hope to skate more in the States as well, but the beauty of the net and tv helps for sure. Thanks for the 2nd California connection for coming out. Hi Erica, I am happy that your grandmother was hapy that we met. Hi Massachusetts!
[Blade1] 5:07 pm: Jennifer this past January you were named Honorary Chair at the 2005 Canadian Championships - what was your week like in London with having such an honour and not having to compete?
[Lynn226] 5:08 pm: No, I live in Missouri.
[missflick] 5:08 pm: You did the skating sequences for that movie, right Jen?
[jimhodges] 5:08 pm: I live in Massachusetts but was born in Hannibal
[jenrob55] 5:08 pm: Yes, I did double for the Movie Ice Princess. I did all the jumps for the lead actress Michelle Tractenburg. She was very cool to meet as was Kim Catrall and Joan.
[semper12] 5:09 pm: we went to see Ice princess cuz you were doing some skating
[petite_patineuse] 5:09 pm: i saw you! that was a cute movie. my club went the second day it opened
[loves_it] 5:09 pm: u were very good in the movie, jen.....as i fan, i could recognize that it was u skating!!!
[petite_patineuse] 5:10 pm: lol, me too.
[jenrob55] 5:10 pm: Sorry to jump around. It was a tremendous honour to be the Honorary Chair for the 2005 Nationals. It was great to watch everyone compete and I was very proud to see what our Canandian ladies were doing. Thanks for supporting the movie, it was a great experience for me. I was invited to the premier, but was doing the last show for Celebration, but went to a screening in Toronto.
[BrettB] 5:10 pm: Jen, what has been your most memorable skating competition, event, or show?
[jimhodges] 5:10 pm: They could not have picked a better skater for the skating parts of the movie.
[jimhodges] 5:11 pm: Is it strange seeing yourself on the big screen?
[loves_it] 5:12 pm: jennifer, how often did/does ur husband watch u compete/perform?
[jenrob55] 5:13 pm: I think a couple people recognized me skating in it, especially when she is skating at the big rink in the short program because I two foot a triple loop combo, so lot of people would know that was me from my od habits!!! Thanks for the compliment, it was a really cool month of my like. It was a bit strange seeing my skating on the big screen, because it was Michelle Tractenburg's face on my body. The had a very cool prop to make that work.
[missflick] 5:13 pm: I have to say, Jen, that my favorite program by you was the "Papa, Can You Hear Me" LP you did at the 2000 worlds.
[jenrob55] 5:14 pm: My husband sees me perform about twice a year, only because he is busy with his coaching. He will be at Stars in Toronto. I also really enjoyed Papa, because it was a very emotional performance for me. I am glad that you liked it.
[loves_it] 5:14 pm: i really loved ur "street scene"......u performed it beautifully....especially at the Olympics!
[missflick] 5:15 pm: Do you still keep "Robinson" or do you go by your husband's name now?
[The Arena]: lise has entered at 5:15 pm
[jenrob55] 5:15 pm: Hi, loves_it, I really like both my Olympic programs because we had spent so much time on developing the idea of them. That is what is truly hard about the year after the Olympics, the next programs never quite seem on the same level.
[petite_patineuse] 5:15 pm: do you have any advice for starting tirple jumps? ive been working on them since Xmas this year, and upper body can rotate them, but i have a half turn cheat on all my triples... do you have any techniques on how to keep my body straight?
[The Arena]: ProSkaterII has entered at 5:15 pm
[The Arena]: KittyKins has entered at 5:16 pm
[The Arena]: handlem9z has entered at 5:16 pm
[jenrob55] 5:16 pm: I skate under Robinson. To honour the sacrifce that my family made to get me to where I am, I wanted to thanks them for all that they gave me. All my id and stuff is under Dennison.
[missflick] 5:16 pm: Glad you joined in KittyKins!
[The Arena]: erin_m has entered at 5:16 pm
[The Arena]: scottmyers has entered at 5:17 pm
[lise] 5:17 pm: Hi Jen! Long time fan here. I was wondering how did you like working on the movie?
[KittyKins] 5:17 pm: hi, thanks...I finally figured it out, lol
[The Arena]: Megda has entered at 5:17 pm
[Julia] 5:18 pm: Jen, another fan from the states here. I've always loved your skating and felt that you were often undermarked in competition. How do you feel? (c'mon you can tell us)
[semper12] 5:18 pm: do you remember chatting with me on ICQ 3-4 years ago
[jenrob55] 5:18 pm: The best way to start triples is to do a lot of numbers. Your body is trained to rotate twice, but you are trying to train your body to stay in for three rotations. You will develop an understanding about what you need to do to get thost jumps clean. Keep your chin up!
[ProSkaterII] 5:18 pm: hi people, for those I know, it's Teresa Dawn...just under a diff name cuz my bro liked this one lol.
[petite_patineuse] 5:18 pm: ok, thanks!
[KittyKins] 5:18 pm: Jenn, I wanted to say that I really enjoyed the movie Ice Princess and I understand you did the jumps in the movie
[KittyKins] 5:18 pm: you did a good job
[petite_patineuse] 5:18 pm: hi, Teresa, it's lisa!
[ProSkaterII] 5:19 pm: hi lisa
[The Arena]: Jen has left at 5:19 pm
[jenrob55] 5:20 pm: First about the movie, I really enjoyed the experince. It was pretty amazing to go to the set, get your hair and makeup down then get to skate for a producer of a movie. When I was first hired, the producer had me stand next to Michelle, then we turned to see profile and I was hired. One hour later I was at the hairdressers get my jut black hair dyed to dirty blonde. It took about 9 hours.
[handlem9z] 5:20 pm: I arrived here late and I'm sorry if this may have already been asked. But Jen what do you think of the new COP scoring system?
[jimhodges] 5:21 pm: Wow. What a long day
[The Arena]: walley has entered at 5:21 pm
[The Arena]: mittens has entered at 5:21 pm
[ProSkaterII] 5:21 pm: hey Jen, I saw you skate at the new rink in Chilliwack. Just wanted to say great show.
[scottmyers] 5:21 pm: Hi, Jen...Scott from Texas here. Completely forgot about the chat session tonight...LOL...wonder what's your opinion about the canadian and american women's chances at turin next february (2006 Winter Olympics)...and I heard that you are a born-again Christian (smiling).
[jenrob55] 5:22 pm: I think every skater feels that they are undermarked because when they perform it has heart and soul behind it. I know why I recieved the marks I did because I was slower than the other skaters and didn't have the flexbility that would have made a difference. It was a bit hard to take sometimes, but I am still trying to impove everyday.
[BrettB] 5:22 pm: i'll second that!!! Chilliwack was amazing!
[ProSkaterII] 5:22 pm: yay someone else that went
[petite_patineuse] 5:22 pm: how do you help your nerves before a competition or show? is there a routine that you go through?
[Blade1] 5:23 pm: Celebration On Ice was an awesome , well put together show. I was at the show in Sudbury,ON.
[jenrob55] 5:24 pm: I think the new system has some good things to it, and some things that need to be improved. I would like to see a system that still rewards the effort of trying difficult jumps because the effort and nerve to get that done in a competition needs to be rewarded. How will the new generation of skaters know if they can do the tough triple/triple combos, and quads if there is not even a small compensation for that?!
[SarahB] 5:24 pm: Lucky ppl here who got to see the second part of Celebration...I was able to see some of the Christmas ones
[Lynn226] 5:24 pm: I thought that you improved tremendously your lutz under Richard Callaghan. Did you ever consider making a permanent coaching change?
[janetliz] 5:24 pm: I got to one of the Christmas Celebration on Ice shows, and really enjoyed it.
[jenrob55] 5:25 pm: For when I am nervous, I usually try to understand that everyone else that is part of an event is feeling similar. But, I tend to overprepare and try to simulate how that feels on the ice everyday. Try to play little games with yourself when you are training and you will feel a difference when you compete.
[KittyKins] 5:26 pm: About how many minutes were you in the movie Ice Princess. Good news about you being a Christian.
[handlem9z] 5:27 pm: Which skaters did you admire when growing up and which ones to you at today and just say WOW?
[missflick] 5:27 pm: You say that you are doing choreography...for whom, in particular?
[jenrob55] 5:27 pm: Hi Lynn226, I never considered a coaching change. I am such a fan of Richard Callaghan and what he did for me. He was one of the best coaches that I have had the good fortune of working with, and still continue to use the good advice he gave me. Michelle and Doug Leigh helped me develop as a skater, and we a had great chemisty together.
[mittens] 5:27 pm: Jen your performance to Jann Arden's "Good Mother" at last year's Gotta Skate was incredible. Is there any other artist whom you'd like to have perform live while you are skating?
[The Arena]: janetliz has left at 5:27 pm
[jenrob55] 5:28 pm: I don't know how many minutes that I was used in the movie, there were 3 doubles for Michelle Tractenburg's character.
[Erica Armstrong] 5:28 pm: Oh, I would agree.. the Good Mother performance was one of my favourites ever.
[The Arena]: janetliz has entered at 5:29 pm
[summer_dream] 5:29 pm: I would agree! Good mother was one of my favorite programs too
[jenrob55] 5:29 pm: I always admired Liz Manely growing up because of here tenacity. I today watch Kurt Browning and realize how outstanding a talent he really is. It is amazing to watch how you can develop with no rules to bind you and I aspire to entertain someday like he does.
[jenrob55] 5:29 pm: Jann Arden is a fantastic person and I was a fan of her

[Blade1] 5:30 pm: Yes that was certainly a beautiful program, and having Jane singing it live must have been really special.
[Blade1] 5:30 pm: sorry I mean to say Jann not Jane
[scottmyers] 5:30 pm: I agree. Kurt is the best when it comes to ad lib on the ice.
[BrettB] 5:30 pm: jen, will you be skating in the EOS connection show?
[The Arena]: Melrose has entered at 5:30 pm
[KittyKins] 5:31 pm: Oh, there were THREE doubles, I was thinking there was 2, you and Lauren Wilson. Did you know the 3rd skater?
[jenrob55] 5:31 pm: Sorry, I hit the wrong button. I was a fan of her's before I met her, and now am more of a fan since I got to now here. I think the next person I would like to perform to would be Andrea Bottcelli. And yes, it is Jann, not Jane, again wrong button.
[missflick] 5:32 pm: I didn't know there was more than one double!
[handlem9z] 5:32 pm: <<< Handing Jen $100 bill to add Michelle Kwan to the list and hear her comments...LOL
[jenrob55] 5:32 pm: I will be skating at the EOS connection show this year, and speaking at a luncheon. The third double was the falling double. Watching the double fall in the movie was quite painful!
[petite_patineuse] 5:33 pm: where was ice princess filmed?
[Erica Armstrong] 5:34 pm: It was filimed at Ricoh Colisseum in TO, I believe.
[loves_it] 5:34 pm: what did they use lauren for?
[jenrob55] 5:35 pm: Ice princess was filmed at various locations around Toronto. The first scene was filmed at a private schools arena, second scene at a rink off of Black Creek Dr, and the third was Ricoh. Lauren was hired at the beginning of the movie as was used for some doubles and definately for the spirals.
[BrettB] 5:35 pm: Jen, you have been to a number of cities for shows and competitions, what city has been your favourite?
[jenrob55] 5:36 pm: for handlem9z, what do you mean?
[ProSkaterII] 5:36 pm: Hey Jen, or anyone else that knows, a few years ago you skated to a version of Perhaps, who sung the version you used (it was an exhibition number)...i've been trying to find that one.
[The Arena]: zamboni has entered at 5:36 pm
[KittyKins] 5:36 pm: spins I've heard
[Julia] 5:36 pm: Jen, (sorta off topic) Do you have pets? I'm a dog person myself!
[jimhodges] 5:37 pm: Do you have any shows scheduled for the states?
[ProSkaterII] 5:38 pm: ooh this room has some great emotions
[semper12] 5:38 pm: yeah come to the bay area in calif
[jenrob55] 5:38 pm: One of my favorite cities is Halifax. I really like it because we always start Stars there, so I walk around and get to see a bit more than other cities. I also really enjoyed Vienna because I got to see alot of music museums there. Perhaps was a show number I did a number of years ago and I can't remember who did it. but I could find out for you. I have two dogs, both Rat Terriers, male ages 6.5 and 7, named Harley and Maxx
[jimhodges] 5:38 pm: Come to Massachusetts
[handlem9z] 5:38 pm: What are some of your other things that you really enjoy in life besides skating?
[mittens] 5:39 pm: Jen, I am looking forward to seeing you perform in this year's Stars on Ice show. Are you able to tell us what music you are skating to in your solo spot or is that a secret until the show?
[BrettB] 5:39 pm: Please do not use the emoticons... they are starting to slow the chat down... Thanks.
[Melrose] 5:40 pm: Hi Jennifer! I wanted to congratuale you on your pro career! You've been fantastic at World Team Challenge this season & I was wondering how you manage to get better & better every year & now as a pro skater you've become certainly one of the best lady pro skater. How do you do it? Looking forward to your appearances at CSOI!
[The Arena]: KittyKins has left at 5:40 pm
[jenrob55] 5:40 pm: I would love to come to States someday, but most show request are for Canada, sorry. The other things I enjoy doing are cooking, reading, and golfing. I was getting ready to golf, but as we speak it is snowing again!!! For Stars, I will be performing to "I want you to want me", which was choreographed by Brian Orser, and "Gabriel's Oboe" which was choreograhped by Lea Anne Miller
[Erica Armstrong] 5:41 pm: Boo to the nasty weather these past couple days!!
[handlem9z] 5:41 pm: Hmm...Jen you may be on to something...Snow Golfing...ha...ha
[semper12] 5:41 pm: see if you came to calif you would be golfing
[petite_patineuse] 5:41 pm: lo, i golf, too. my dad tried taking me out to the driving range last week in the snow! ... i went to skating instead
[scottmyers] 5:42 pm: How is it to work with Lea Ann Miller, Jen? I know that Lea Ann had worked with my personal favorite skater, Rosalynn Sumners.
[The Arena]: KittyKins has entered at 5:42 pm
[semper12] 5:42 pm: its 70 deg f
[petite_patineuse] 5:42 pm: O_O wow. its, like snowing here.
[KittyKins] 5:42 pm: got disconnected there, oh well, lol
[Blade1] 5:43 pm: snowing? my oh my ! it was extreamly windy here today. and I mean WINDY !!!
[petite_patineuse] 5:43 pm: jen, do you help with any seminars around the province?
[lise] 5:43 pm: was the Olympics experience everything you imagined it would be?
[jenrob55] 5:43 pm: Thanks for the compliment. I know that everyone who usually comes to a skating show is very knowledgable, so you guys help me improve. I also have goals as a pro skater, because I want to be interesting as a pro performer now. Kurt, Brian, Scott are all wonderful entertainers and I hope to be someday as entertaining. Working with Lea Ann was awesome, and she has done wonderful things with Rosalynn. I hope to have some of the magic that they developed over the years.
[petite_patineuse] 5:43 pm: (ontario)
[KittyKins] 5:44 pm: It's very nice here in Thunder Bay
[Erica Armstrong] 5:44 pm: Well we have snow back on the ground here in Kitchener! booo
just when it was getting nice
[zamboni] 5:45 pm: Jen, what moment has been the most memorable in your skating career?
[jimhodges] 5:45 pm: Raining like mad here in Gardner, Massachusetts
[SarahB] 5:45 pm: I'm glad the freaky weather that was this weekend is now finished...driving up to Thornhill today was FUNTIMES,
[jenrob55] 5:45 pm: I do an occasional seminar around the province, but not as many as I would like. I only started coaching this past summer and like any other skill I need to learn how to be a better coach. I also started working in television with local cable here in Barrie, called First Local and I co-host a news program here and I love it.
[petite_patineuse] 5:45 pm: lucky... i hope i have a snow day tomorrow. we have a foot of snow in my front yard.
[Blade1] 5:45 pm: wow !!! we normally are use to the snow here in the north. It was sunny, cloudy today, with really high winds like I said ...
[scottmyers] 5:45 pm: not to rub it in......but it's 72 degrees here in Texas (smiling)
[ProSkaterII] 5:45 pm: it's warmish here but raining, been pouring all day
[KittyKins] 5:46 pm: oh no, snow!! So much for Spring, lol. Are you in T.O. Jenn?
[Blade1] 5:46 pm: wow a news program. very interesting.
[summer_dream] 5:46 pm: It's been raining here all day too. I'm just glad all the snow is gone!
[KittyKins] 5:46 pm: scott, you're MEAN
[petite_patineuse] 5:47 pm: lol, cool... ill have to watch it when i go there.
[BrettB] 5:47 pm: Ok back to skating
[scottmyers] 5:47 pm: yeah...back to the subject we came to chat with Jen about.
[Melrose] 5:47 pm: Oh but Jennifer, you already have the magic! It's seems that now that the eligible load is off your shoulders you will be able to explore & do more of what you wish to do. The sky's the limit!
[loves_it] 5:47 pm: jen, could u ever see urself running a skating school like mariposa with ur husband in the future?
[jenrob55] 5:47 pm: The most memorable moment for me was, the Olympic Games is Salt Lake, standing at the boards getting to go on for my long program. I found my parents and my husband on the top bowl waving Canadians flags, then seeing Brian Orser and Kurt Browning flashed on the screen of the jumbo tron, and it was full circle for me because I watched Brain skate in 88, and he was watching me. That was a goose bump moment for me
[semper12] 5:47 pm: we saw you skate in person at skate america in colorado springs
[Blade1] 5:48 pm: Jennifer will be perhaps see you at the Olympics in 2006 doing some "coaching" perhaps ???
[scottmyers] 5:48 pm: What other fun things are planned for you on the CSOI tour? I saw the SOI American tour in Dallas (IMAGINATION) and the magic acts used...so I am curious.
[Melrose] 5:49 pm: Jennifer, you also have much talent as a commentator it would seem;-
[jenrob55] 5:49 pm: I am in Barrie right now, which is 45 mins North of Toronto. I don't have any skaters that would be going to 2006 Games. My, which is a term I use loosely, skater that I do choreography for is at the Junior National level. Maybe 2010, maybe!
[The Arena]: donutspin has entered at 5:49 pm
[jenrob55] 5:50 pm: I don't know what is in store for CSOI, but I am trying to learn the group numbers through a DVD I recieved. I am as much ready for some suprises, as you are.
[Blade1] 5:50 pm: Thanks Jen
[Melrose] 5:50 pm: Barrie sounds like a great little place full of nice people-and skaters;-
[jimhodges] 5:51 pm: As a pro will you still be doing a lot of the technical elements you did as eligible or will you tone it down some to keep down the wear and tear on your body?
[petite_patineuse] 5:51 pm: what kinds of skates do you wear, and why do oyu like them?
[scottmyers] 5:51 pm: thanks, Jen! I know you're going to enjoy the CSOI tour this year! Oh...and Jamie and David rock too!
[lise] 5:51 pm: Will you be attending Nats in Ottawa next year?
[The Arena]: Jaymoo has entered at 5:51 pm
[Blade1] 5:51 pm: well as the theme for this years SOI - "Imagination" I can only "imagine" what we will be in for...
[jenrob55] 5:51 pm: sorry, I was just reading back, loves_it, I don't know if we would ever open a school like Mariposa, it is a lot of work and we are both just beginning. but thanks for the vote of confidence!
[jenrob55] 5:52 pm: As a pro, for this year both my numbers combined have a t.lutz, t.loop, 2t.salchows, and d.axels. I hope to keep it up
[Blade1] 5:52 pm: Jen your doing a fabulous job !
[lise] 5:53 pm: I agree!
[Melrose] 5:53 pm: Yes fabulous job Jen & kudos to you!
[semper12] 5:53 pm: Imo Jamie & david will go as the very best pair skaters of all time
[jenrob55] 5:53 pm: I wear S.P.Terris because I have always worn them and they work for me. I hope to be in Ottawa next year for Nats, because it is just to much fun to watch.
[lise] 5:53 pm: Does your brother still play hockey? I remember your other site where it was mentionned that he played.
[jimhodges] 5:54 pm: Wow. What hard elements. Much harder than the ones I have seen in the shows here so far this year.
[KittyKins] 5:54 pm: Good for you for coaching. Think - 2010 Oly will be in Canada
[The Arena]: Jaymoo has left at 5:54 pm
[jenrob55] 5:55 pm: My brother does still play hockey, he is in London, England playing for his second year. He is the assistant coach and player. they unfortunately just got knocked out of the play-offs, but I think he will be going back next year.

[petite_patineuse] 5:55 pm: are you planning to specialize in any discipline of skating?
[Jaymoo] 5:56 pm: hey jennifer .. this is Jaime Lee i am one of Lloyd Eisler's students i went to see you at his fairwell show
[Jaymoo] 5:56 pm: jamie forthyth i love u hahah ! ur my hero
[jenrob55] 5:56 pm: I will have children someday, hopefully, and I would put them inot whatever sport they would like to do. I couldn't turn them away from skating because it has given me so much.

[jenrob55] 5:58 pm: Hi Jaymoo, skating is going well. I am really training hard for my new Stars program because it is so new that I want to perform it well. I have one more week before I leave for rehersals. Jef Billings is doing that dress, so I can't wait to see it!!!!! He does some pretty spectacular work.
[The Arena]: handlem9z has left at 5:59 pm

[jenrob55] 6:02 pm: I loved being apart of Llyod and Isa's show. It was great to get to know them on and off the ice! I am excited to have Jeff doing the whole tour and Joannie doing parts. I love both of them because they have great personalities off the ice, and they are entertaining on the ice too. I know that all of you will love what they will bring to the show. I have only tried pairs for fun, I am too tall. My husband used to be a pair skater and he showed me how to do some of the tricks.
