Kaetlyn Osmond Wins Canadian National Title with 207.24 points

Kaetlyn Osmond, of Sherwood Park in Alberta, has skated her way to her second National title at the 2014 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships in Ottawa, Ontario.

Osmond had the lead following the short program, but secured the title following a stunning free skate performance, finishing with a competition score of 207.24 points. With her placement, Osmond will represent Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. Last year, Osmond placed 8th at the 2013 World Champions in London, Ottawa. She withdrew from both her Grand Prix events this past fall because of a hamstring injury in the knee.

Gabrielle Daleman, of Newmarket in Ontario, finished second with a total of 182.47 points. Amelie Lacoste, who was in second place following the short program, finished a disappointing 5th place in the Free Skate scoring 166.69 point in total and finishing in third place.

Skate Canada will send two women to the Olympics and will announce their team on Sunday.
