Skate Today

All figure skating to air live on NBC during Sochi Olympics

Television viewers will be able to watch figure skating live during February’s Olympic Games in Sochi. Every performance will air on cable channel NBCSN during the day, with the key moments shown on tape-delay on NBC that night as in previous Olympics.

In a shift by NBC from past games outside North America, fans will now be able to watch the women’s gold-medal-winning performance on TV as it happens, instead of waiting until that evening.

During the last Winter Olympics in Vancouver, NBC could broadcast figure skating live in prime time, but with Sochi, there is a nine-hour time difference between Sochi and the U.S. Eastern time zone.

About Us

Skate Today was created in November 2004 to showcase the people of the skating world, skaters and coaches and others, who make figure skating and ice dancing a pleasure to watch for fans from around the world. The goal was to create a site that would give viewers an insight into the personalities of the people involved in this sport and to give you a more personal connection when watching them live at an event or on the television. Our staff knows how much time and dedication is put into this sport and that's why Skate Today was created.
