Another day, another twist in YunaGate. Today, Kim’s management team is on the attack once again. This time they are upset with Orser for releasing information to AFP about Kim’s new free skate program saying “this can only be construed as a move intended to hurt the skater.”
In the interview with AFP, Orser praised Kim’s program saying ”it is a fantastic program, by far the best one I’ve seen. It is well beyond even her (Olympic program) Concerto in F. It’s a complete departure.”
So how did he break the cardinal rule? Orser revealed Kim’s program is a compilation of Korean music, featuring “Arirang”.
“This started as a simple issue of a skater and coach going their separate ways,” AT Sports said in an Universal Sports article. “We do not want this standoff and accusations to go on any further. We strongly urge Mr. Orser to put an end to the unfounded claims and refrain from disclosing confidential information about Yu-Na Kim’s future competition plans.”
But good news for Kim fans, her short program will be choreographed by Canadian ice dancer Shae-Lynn Bourne during the Labour Day weekend.
What do you think? Do you agree with Kim’s management team that Orser is out to “hurt” Kim? We don’t think Orser has a mean bone in his body.
