We’re halfway through summer and that means it’s time for the annual Mariposa Charity Figure Skating Gala. On August 5th, get out of the heat and cool off at the Barrie Molson Centre and watch a wonderful evening of skating for a good cause. All proceeds from the skating gala go to the Rotary House at Royal Victoria Hospital.

This year’s lineup includes 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Joannie Rochette, world champion Jeff Buttle, six-time Canadian ladies champion Jennifer Robinson, British men’s champion Steve Cousins, Vanessa Crone and Paul Poirier, Anabelle Langlois and Cody Hay, and Nobunari Oda.

Also performing are a number of up-and-coming skaters as well as the Ice Men, a comedy skating team that raises money for breast cancer research.

Tickets for the show are still available. General admission is $35 for adults, and $20 for seniors and children.
