Ice Show at the Calgary Stampede

Strap on the cowboy boots and grab your hat.  It’s time for a yee-haw fun time at the 2010 Calgary Stampede, July 9-18.  New to the Stampede this year is the “Acrobatic Ice Show: A Rock ‘N Roll Fantasy”.

Canada’s elite skating superstars and cirque acrobats will perform to live performances of Rock ‘n Roll’s most unforgettable anthems by Tina Turner, Nickelback, U2, Guns N’ Roses, Bryan Adams, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Alanis Morissette and more.

The show has been created specifically for the Stampede and will feature Elvis Stojko, Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir and Vaughn Chipeur. This spectacle promises to be an unforgettable experience for the entire family.

“It’s what you get when you mix world-class figure skating, a modern rock concert, a camera crew and huge video screens, acrobats suspended from the ceiling and an abundance of lights and lasers in one show,” says Jim Laurendeau, senior manager, Calgary Stampede Programming.

The show is FREE with gate admission of only $14 for adults or $7 for seniors and children 7-12. The skaters will perform 3-4 times per day, see show guide for performance times.

About Us

Skate Today was created in November 2004 to showcase the people of the skating world, skaters and coaches and others, who make figure skating and ice dancing a pleasure to watch for fans from around the world. The goal was to create a site that would give viewers an insight into the personalities of the people involved in this sport and to give you a more personal connection when watching them live at an event or on the television. Our staff knows how much time and dedication is put into this sport and that's why Skate Today was created.
