2010 Grand Prix assignments announced

The International Skating Union announced the skater selections for the 2010 ISU Grand Prix series.

It’s interesting to see a few names not on the list as we haven’t heard official retirement notices also a number of skaters that have had retirement speculation are still on the list. Here are some names that pop to my mind after a quick scan:

  • Joannie Rochette
  • Vaughn Chipeur
  • Evan Lysacek
  • Yannick Ponsero
  • Meagan Duhamel & Craig Buntin
  • Allie Hann-McCurdy & Michael Coreno
  • Ryan Bradley

Below is a schedule for the 2010 Grand Prix season:

  • NHK Trophy: 22 – 24 October (Nagoya)
  • Skate Canada: 29 – 31 October (Kingston, Ontario)
  • Cup of China: 5 – 7 November (Beijing)
  • Skate America: 12 – 14 November (Portland, Oregon)
  • Cup of Russia: 19 – 21 November (Moscow)
  • Trophée Eric Bompard Cachemire: 26 – 28 November (Paris)

We suspect a lot of changes will be coming to the roster before Oct 22. We will keep you updated with the latest changes to the Grand Prix roster and any further retirement announcements.

So what do you think of the rosters? Are you going to any of the Grand Prix series?
